Let me tell you about how I have gotten to where I am at.

 

Two years ago, my life was pretty good.  I was working with my best friend, in the interior design field.  I loved my job and he encouraged me to pursue Feng Shui ten years ago, which made my job more enjoyable.  Then, he suddenly died with no warning.  While this was difficult, I dived in, trying to keep the business going.  Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, the business was shut down on the Friday before Christmas.  It was almost like he died again.

 

My daughter and her family, decided we should go to Florida to visit my parents for the holidays.  I know they were just trying to get my mind off of the events of the year and we had been blessed with my second grandchild earlier that year, so they wanted to have her meet the family.  So off to Florida we went.  My father pulled me aside while we were there and told me how much he believed in me and that he thought I should start my own company.  He convinced me to do so.

 

Unfortunately, after our Christmas visit, my father received the news that his oldest friend and my godfather was seriously ill and not getting better.  So, my parents decided to come to Maryland to see my godfather.  My father and I talked a couple of days prior to their leaving for Maryland (which is where I live) .  My dad and I talked about what kind of help and advice I needed for my business.  Dad told me to get my thoughts together and while he was in Maryland, he would help me with whatever I needed.  Unfortunately, for me and my father's dear friend, my father passed away in his sleep the night before he got to Maryland.

 

My godfather passed away six weeks later and my grandmother passed this past summer.

 

I was turning 50 this summer and with all of the events that had happened, I felt that I really needed to take time to listen to inner wisdom and process everything that had happened.  My desire to hear my inner guidance lead me to Denise Linn's Soul Coaching Certification Class.  There is not enough time or paper for me to tell you all the ways that the comfort of Denise's ranch and the nurturing of Denise and the other 15 people there.  After my class, I knew that I not only wanted to continue to help people create beauty in their home, I also wanted to assist people in seeing their inner beauty and bringing that to their everyday life.  I will tell you this.  I wake up everyday, excited about what I do and the people I get to work with. 

 

I tell you this story, not to make you sad.  I tell this story because in the last two years, I have endured several deaths of loved ones, loss of a job, a serious infection and a move.  But - as Oprah says - here is what I know for sure.   While all of this events have brought me sadness, they have also been a catalyst for an even deeper spirituality and a compassion for anyone who is dealing with any kind of change or loss.

 

When I work with my clients, it is very important to me that they feel that they are in a safe and nurturing environment.  I know how it feels to not be sure of what to do next or where to go.
